Unfortunately this receiver adapter did not fit my Ford F250 3" hitch, way too tight.
Worked with Arthur from e-trailer to obtain a return/refund. After looking at reviews, I see many other folks had the same issue. If I were e-trailer I would pull this item from my product offering.

There is another reducer part # C45408 that will work better for you.

by:

When I went to use this my bike rack would not fit in the 2" receiver because it was poorly made. Unfortunately it was well past etrailers 60 day return policy so they told me they would not help me. I contacted buyers myself and they were happy to help me and took the old one back and shipped me a new one that works great. If buyers did it for me, they certainly would have done it for etrailer but etrailer couldn't be bothered with it. I will buy buyers products again but will not buy anything from etrailer anymore. They also told me I would need to buy a whole new $XXX base for my bw companion hitch because the parts were not available. A quick call to bw and my. $XX parts were on their way. Again, poor service from etrailer. Back to local shops for me.

product worked out just fine / GREAT!!!

by:

Fit & finish as well as customer service was great! Very nice experience!

by:

Simple piece, but works as expected for my '22 Super Duty.

by:

Great service! Product is as advertised and great quality.

by:

I bought this receiver adapter about a year ago. I pull a 26ft, 6500lb trailer with a load levelling hitch down to a jet ski, with individual ball receivers. The only difficulty is it won't handle all 3 positions of a 1-7/8", 2", & 2-5/16" triple head cluster, the pin holes in the adapter are too close.

by:

Fits loosely into my new 2021 Ford F350 Super Duty. Although it fits easy enough, it is sloppy and rattles a bit. Of course my Equalizer had a slight looseness in my old truck too. Now I am a little concerned that the adaptor slop will compound with the Equalizer movement to cause an unsafe condition. I'd rate it higher if I knew it would be totally safe and not compromise tongue weight or towing. I wish it would fit snugger into the truck hitch.

The sleeve works well enough, I spoke with a parts dealer and he told me a trick to take out the looseness. I purchased some cheap plastic door wedges and drove them between the receiver and sleeve. It really makes a snug fit without any problems.

by:

I tried to use this with four different 2 inch receivers and not one of them would fit. I would not purchase this product again or recommend to anyone else looking for a 3 inch to 2 inch adapter. I’m not sure how this manufacturer could let so many of them out into the marketplace when it simply does not work as advertised.

We did have this extender pulled to be tested and found that they had an engineering issue. I will have customer service team reach out to you. I recommend taking a look at part # e33YR as a replacement.

by:

Very poor quality. I ordered the MaxxTow Adjustable Tri-Ball Mount MT70197 at the same time I ordered this 337RTA302 adapter. The MaxxTow cannot be inserted into this adapter because the inside of the adapter is not squared and not smooth. I have many 2 inch shanks with different size balls, none of them can be inserted into this adapter 337RTA302, but one shank that was forced into this adapter. Once I forced the shank into this adapter, still cannot insert the 5/8 pin because the pin holes on the adapter are out of alignment. I wasted time and money buying this product.

by:

I thought the fit was a little wobbly. I haven't used it yet and not sure how it"s supposed to fit. This is replacing a 3 to 2 1/2 to 2inch adapter. The hitch side is solid but the insert into the 3 inch is not as tight as I think it should be.

You can use an anti-rattle hitch like the XL Anti-Rattle Trailer Hitch Receiver Lock for 2-12 Hitches - 3-12 Span Part # SHP2040-XL to lessen the wobble in your towing setup.

by:

Unusable. Poorly constructed. Huge seam on inside which prevents the insertion of a 2” hitch. Only use is as a doorstop.

by:

Will not fit any of my 2 inch hitches - the weld on the inside needs to be ground down for it to work. I even paid for overnight shipping as I needed it asap - guess I have to figure something out.

I am sorry that the hitch reducer is not working for you. We did have a batch from the manufacturer that was defective that is currently being corrected. I will have our customer service team reach out to you.

Exactly what I needed, and delivered early! Superb quality and great price too.

Unfortunately, the 2 receiver did not fit my 2 Kayak rack male end. The milling looked to be a mm or so off on the corners, preventing me from using the adaptor

by:

Previously I had to use two step down adapters. This adapter made lining up for to pin hole much easier. Good product and excellent etrailer service!

Still working great!

by:

Just received this. I tried 4 different 2" hitches and none of them fit. I previously ordered this a month ago and that one didnt fit any of my hitches either. I reported that it looked like the outer flange that buyers product welded on was not in line with the 2" tubing. This one that e trailer sent me looks like the it has the same issues as before And, well guess what it still doesnt fit. 4 different hitches and none of them fit and they are standard over the counter 2" hitches. The problem is not on my end, it is buyers products and etrailer for sending me this unverified hunk of useless steel. I will be calling you to return this junk too. Not very happy.

by:

We needed an adapter for our RV to make our 3 inch receiver accept a 2 inch bike rack. The folks at etrailer were excellent. They explained what we needed and the price was very good also. I will definitely use them again

by:

Order to delivery very quick Thank y ou

by:

This adapter is perfect for using a 2" hitch in a 3" receiver. I have 2 adapter sleeves that came with my truck and my previous truck had a single sleeve to adapter 2.5" down to 2". The problem with these sleeves is that you can remove the hitch and forget to take out the sleeve, leaving it to fall out next time you drive the truck. This adapter forces you to take out the pin to remove hitch and adapter or take out the smaller pin to remove only the hitch. No chance of suffering from a brain fart.

by:

I recently purchased an F350 with a 3" receiver. I needed a reducer to install my bike rack. This reducer worked perfectly

by:

Purchased this adapter for use on my 2019 F-350.
I have a Yakima Dr. Tray hitch mounted bike rack. This adapter works perfectly between the 3” ford receiver and the 2” hitch mounted rack that incorporates both locking mechanisms.

by:

Very poor quality. It took an hour of grinding out the inside to get a 2" insert to fit into it. It did fit into the 3" trailor hitch with no modification necessary. In the end it works. Very disapontied.

by:

Good product for a fair price. I have a fifth-wheel hitch but needed this reducer to pull smaller bumper pull trailers.

by:

I was received well on the phone. The person helping me was friendly and professional both. She was able to help take care of my product in need and sending back one I thought was right. Would definitely buy future products from them. They totally have it together there at etrailer.

by:

Works as advertised so far. Makes it much easier to use my 2" hitches including the rock tamers which protect my RV 5th wheel and other trailers.

  • Adapter to Fit 3 inch Hitch of 2017 Ford F-350 and Provide 2 inch Hitch
The correct adapter for the 3 inch hitch on your 2017 Ford F-350 down to a 2 inch hitch is the Buyers Products adapter part # 337RTA302 as it has the correct diameter for the hitch pin of 5/8 inch. Everything else we offer does not match this size.

  • Recommended Hitch Reducer for 3 Inch Receiver and Weight Distribution Hitch
I recommend using the Buyers Products 3" to 2" Receiver Tube Adapter # 337RTA302 which will give you an additional length of 3-7/8 inches from hitch pin hole to hitch pin hole. This allows using only one adapter and additional adapters may weaken the tongue weight of your trailer hitch so I don't recommend using two. This adapter is rated for a maximum tongue weight of 1,200 lbs.

Of those two hitch reducer options, the Buyers Products 3" to 2" Receiver Tube Adapter # 337RTA302 is compatible with your 2017 Ram 2500's 3 inch receiver. The Reese's pin hole is too large to match your truck's receiver. There are also other options like the B&W Hitch Receiver Reducer Sleeve - 3" to 2-1/2" # BWRHXA2183 and the Curt Hitch Receiver Reducer Sleeves - 3" to 2-1/2" or 2" # C45408. Any of these options will work with your factory 3 inch hitch.

  • How to Use Bike Rack in 3 inch Trailer Hitch of 2017 Ford F-350
What you need is the Buyer's Products part # 337RTA302 which fits your 3 inch hitch and gives you a 2 inch hitch for the bike rack to fit. This slides into your 3 inch hitch and then gives you a 2 inch hitch that sticks out a bit from the 3 inch hitch opening. This allows the bike hitch pin to work normally since essentially the rack is attaching to a 2 inch hitch like it is designed for. You'll need a pin for the adapter in the 3 inch hitch; use # 37201065 for a pin or # 63259 for a lock.

There is a way to use Dallas Cowboys hitch cover # HTCC2008 in a hitch with a 3 inch receiver opening on your 1994 Ford F-150. It will require the use of an adapter, # 337RTA302, because there are no hitch covers that fit directly in a 3 inch hitch. The adapter will reduce it down to a 2 inch so you can use the hitch cover. Or, if you already have a reducer sleeve you could use it. I also recommend a hitch lock such as # C23025 which has a span of 3-5/8 inches to deter theft of the hitch cover.
